                  "Solidarity With Israel" Program

“The connection of the Jewish people with the land of Israel.” “The solidarity of Diaspora Jews with the people and the democratically-elected leadership of the Jewish state.” “Support of educational and charitable programs in the state of Israel.” All of these are not merely slogans, but the representations of systematic work by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), which manifests in a variety of projects and events.
The EAJC consistently supports the repatriation of Jews from its region. The Congress participates in programs through which many families from the former Soviet Union visit the Jewish state to visit their children who serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). IDF combatants who were wounded in battle are also within the EAJC's sphere of interest. The leadership of the Congress regularly participates in joint diplomatic missions with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in support of Israel.
The name of Gilad Shalit has become a symbol of all captured soldiers, and the EAJC President has taken measures on many different levels to learn of his fate. The leader of the Congress organized a solemn ceremony for the the completion of a new Torah scroll dedicated to the fate of Gilad Shalit and other military personnel who were missing in action or captured by the enemy. Together with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the Minister of Internal Affairs Eli Yishai, and Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat, Alexander Mashkevich wrote in the last letters of the scroll.
During the Second Lebanon, the EAJC immediately gathered the required funds to sustain the life of the elderly residents of Israel's northern regions, brutally bombarded by Hizbollah terrorists, and helped hundreds of children move from the dangerous regions into the central part of the country.
After the Solidarity Mission to Sderot, which was systematically bombarded by Hamas terrrorists, and his participation in the elimination of the aftermath of terroristic acts, the EAJC President was decorated with an Israel Defense Forces honorary award.
Alexander Mashkevich and his EAJC colleagues are leading sponsors of the United Israel Appeal - Keren Hayesod. The EAJC leaders was unanimously elected president of the FSU Keren Hayesod division.
