The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today welcomed the King of Morocco's letter of support to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on the disengagement from Gaza.
In expressing their appreciation to Moroccan King Mohammed VI, Barbara B. Balser, ADL National Chair, and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, said "It is important that this very difficult step [disengagement] being undertaken by Israel be recognized by the international community, especially by responsible leaders in the Arab and Muslim world."
Ms. Balser and Mr. Foxman told the King, "Your leadership in this regard is welcomed and important" and, "We share your hope for a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
Other messages of support have been sent to Prime Minister Sharon, from heads of state including Great Britain, South Africa and Turkey.
