The Vaad of Ukraine published the report "Antisemitic acts and publications in Ukrainian periodicals during 2006" focused on major trends of development of antisemitism in the country.
The research is based on publications of the editions officially registered by the State Committee on information policy, TV and broadcasting of Ukraine. Authors of the report, emphasize that "... the activity of antisemitic propagation has practically remained at a level of 2005, with its sharp splash in displays of the antisemitism which has reached its maximum level for all years of independence of Ukraine."
Dynamics of antisemitism growth for last years is most evident in comparison with 1997, when "historical minimum" of "antisemitic publications" was fixed. According to quantitative data, the number of antisemitic publications in 2006 was 667, close to 661 fixed in 2005. Thus the total of antisemitic publications in the country has grown more than in 4.5 times for last 10 years.
