The Army Warns: Because of the Politicians' Stupidity We Will Lose One More War

Senior IDF officers subject political leadership to severe criticism for indecision and a lack of understanding of the Gaza situation. This was reported by Walla information agency with reference to high-ranking sources in the Command of the Southern Military Region.
According to the generals, "the politicians are trying to appropriate our achievements" and "will not allow us to bring the Cast Lead operation to victory."
"We will lose another war for this reason," warns the agency's interlocutor.
The military fear that the possibility of IDF losses during the decisive attack in the third phase of the operation will make the political leadership wrap up military actions - regardless of strategic situation. However they insist that the army is ready to bring the campaign to victory.
The officers believe that the partial and incoherent decisions of the Government, as well as the ongoing disputes between Olmert, Barack and Livni about continuation or termination of the operation cause disorder in the action of troops and prevent from focusing on the main objectives. "In addition, no one can say what these objectives are," added the sources of Walla .
In their turn, the generals believe that the operation could be completed only after the maximum suppression of the Hamas military power and termination of missile attacks. And for this, stress the military, the leaders of Hamas, who give orders to shoot at Israel, should be "drawn out of the holes."
"Ending the operation at this point will not break Hamas, which will retain the ability to attack Israeli territory. This means everything will repeat again in the near future," claim the officers.
