                  Netanyahu convenes first Cabinet meeting

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized "unity, responsibility and work" at the start of his first Cabinet meeting.
Netanyahu, who was sworn in last week with his 29-member Cabinet, on Sunday called his government "a genuine unity government. It was created out of a sense of deep responsibility concerning the need to deal with the urgent security, economic and social challenges that Israel faces."
The government was set Sunday to establish a diplomatic-security cabinet, which will complete the formulation of an Israeli policy to advance peace and security. Netanyahu also said he would ask the Cabinet to abrogate the previous government's decision to approve a massive Prime Minister's Residence complex, and to work to present a more modest proposal.
The government also was set to approve a decision to quickly pass a biannual budget.
