Mogilev Community Gives Presents to Jewish Veterans

Jews who are veterans of the Second World War, former ghetto prisoners and the righteous among the Nations living in Mogilev will receive individual presents for Victory Day.
As it was informed to the Jewish News Agency by Ida Shenderovich, a coordinator of community programs of the Mogilev Jewish community, the community is already preparing holiday presents for each veteran who fought at the front or in the rear, for former ghetto prisoners, and the righteous among the Nations.
The presents will accompanied by a personalized greeting card.
"Only 41 veterans, former ghetto prisoner and the righteous among the Nations remain in our city. These people pass away and we would like young people to meet them and show more deference to them," Ida Shenderovich explained to the JNA.
"And personal holiday presents are one of the forms of such consideration and respect for the people who survived war, bore the burden of all its severities and horrors."
May 8, on Shabbat devoted to Victory Day, presents will be given to veterans.
Young Jewish community members will deliver presents to those of them who will not be able to come.
"We are very grateful to the sponsors, Jewish businessmen of Mogilev, who immediately responded to the suggestion to making holiday presents for veterans and gave products of their enterprises for this purpose," Ida Shenderovich said.
