Norwegian Anti-Semites Desecrated Jewish section of Ancient Cemetery with Nazi swastikas
18.05.2009
On the night of Friday, in the Norwegian capital the anti-Semites desecrated the Jewish section of an ancient cemetery with the Nazi swastikas.
The city cemetery of Sofinberg was founded over 150 years ago. In the 1920s the burials were stopped there, and today it is considered a memorable object.
The visitors who came on Friday were shocked by the blatant act of vandalism on the dozens of graves in the Jewish part of the cemetery.
Numerous Nazi swastikas and offensive inscriptions, including "Death to Jews" and "War is still in progress," is what remained after a night bacchanalia of the local neo-Nazis.
The leaders of the Norwegian Jewish community, which in recent months has repeatedly warned the public of the outburst of anti-Semitism in the country, filed a formal complaint to the police and demanded a prompt and effective investigation of cemetery vandalism.
