Heftziba Program to Remain Open
03.06.2009
Today, the Knesset Committee on Immigration and Absorption agreed to continue funding the "Heftziba" program, through which young Jewish tourists from the CIS countries visit Israel.
The Knesset deputy Meshulam Nagari (Shas) spoke with particular enthusiasm in favor of the continuation of the "Heftziba" program.
In his view, this governmental program, more than any other, contributes to awakening with young Jews from the former Soviet Union a sense of solidarity with the State of Israel, and strengthens their "Zionist and national-religious motivation."
