As the Fatah Elections Committee came close on Saturday to completing a recount of last week's vote following accusations of fraud and the subsequent dismissal of several counters, it appeared that Israeli candidate Uri Davis had won a seat on the party's Revolutionary Council.
The wife of jailed Fatah-Tanzim terrorist Marwan Barghouti, Fadwa, was also reported to have won a place on the list.
Davis, a 66-year-old academic, is an outspoken critic of his country and identifies himself as a Palestinian Hebrew-speaking citizen of what he calls "the apartheid state of Israel."
Palestinian news agency Ma'an said that the official results would be submitted to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for ratification before they are announced publicly.
