Nazi graffiti in streets of Penza.
17.02.2003 In Penza nazi graffiti appeared in Svetlaya street, Victory avenue and Lunacharskogo street. Alexey Dobel, the press-service representative of Penza Regional Department on Internal Affairs, was requested to comment on this disturbing fact. The last was quite surprised the question was referred to him and redressed it to the chief of the city Department on Social Order Vladimir Shikin.
At first Shikin did not believe, but at seeing the pictures of nazi symbolic, he accused the city municipal services of: "not keep up the order!" Then he thought and told the drawings do not present any catastrophe because nobody "yet has complained - you are the first". Such reaction of the local power representative local is more than surprising. Another disturbing fact is that, according to Vladimir Shikin, nobody cares about number of profascist organizations in the city, believing that the last "do not simply exist".
As it has been already informed, Penza regional radio regularly propagandizes nationalist sights; skinheads beat the journalist Jury Sorkin last autumn; Veniamin Zuskin's memorial board was stolen in August. For a while the "brown" literature was on sale in the building of city administration.
