Former Nazi camp prisoners want to participate in upbringing modern youth.

                  21.02.2003

Former Nazi camp underage prisoners, living currently in Nizhniy Novgorod and its region, want to participate in upbringing modern youth. This was announced by the chairman of Nizhniy Novgorod regional branch of the Russian Union of Former Underage Prisoners of Nazi Camps Leonid Lisonevich during a meeting with the director of the Department of Social Security of the Population Vera Zolotnitska and other employees of the Department. Mr. Lisonevich said that the members of the Nizhniy Novgorod regional branch of the Russian Union of Former Underage Prisoners are troubled with the growing number of cases of extremism among the Nizhniy Novgorod youth. He explained the situation by saying that children and youth know little about the Nazi cruelty, the very the prisoners felt during the war. Leonid Lisonevich and his colleagues think that school students must be told the whole truth about fascism, to keep them from even having an idea of joining the ranks of extremists.
