05.03.2003 On April 2002, Wingeit Sport Institute situated near the town of Natania, held sport gathering for representatives of almost all post-Soviet territories. That was when the idea of organizing "Makkabi" Jewish sport society in Khabarovsk, the capital of Russia's Far East, was born. The idea turned into reality in June. Since then, the Khabarovsk sport club enjoys happy existence and functions successfully under the aegis of "Misrakh" Jewish community and with an active support by the Khabarovsk rabbi and the Khabarovsk branch of the Jewish agency in Russia.
Mini-soccer, swimming, table tennis, chess, checkers, and unarmed self-defense are available in the club. There is no age limitation, although the club is attended by Jewish youth mostly. However, the pool is largely visited by the elderly. Shaping is to be added soon. The main objective of the club is popularizing a healthy way of living.
