                  11.11.2019, Communities of Eurasia

The Ukrainian Jewish Encounter is a Canadian philanthropic organization that has been working since 2008 to strengthen relations between our two peoples. This year marks the sixth time we are presenting our organization’s initiatives and projects to the participants and visitors of the BookForum in Lviv, and, in the interests of a broader international dialogue, supporting discussions around books that reinforce and affirm the values we disseminate.

On 21 September 2019, the BookForum featured a discussion on the topic “Ukrainian-Jewish Relations in Museum Collections and Art”, which was dedicated to a presentation of books promoting the heritage of Jewish art published by Ukraine’s “Dukh i Litra” publishing house. With the participation of UJE Co-Director Alti Rodal (Canada); UJE Board Member Berel Rodal (Canada); and Yosef Zissels, co-president of Vaad, the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine. The moderator was BookForum co-founder, historian and translator Andriy Pavlyshyn.
